Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1 scoop (about 25-30g) vanilla protein powder

1 tablespoon chia seedsPinch of cinnamon (optional)

Wet Ingredients

¾ - 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, if protein powder isn't strongly flavored)

1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Optional Add-Ins

2 tablespoons Greek yogurt (for extra creaminess and protein)

Method

  1. Combine dry ingredients — In a jar or container, add the rolled oats, chia seeds, and cinnamon if using. Stir to combine.
Blend the protein powder — In a separate small container, whisk the vanilla protein powder with a splash of milk until smooth and free of clumps.
Combine wet ingredients — Add the blended protein mixture to the oats, along with the remaining milk, vanilla extract, and sweetener. Stir thoroughly until well combined.
Refrigerate — Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or ideally overnight.
Mid-soak stir (optional but recommended) — About an hour into refrigeration, give the jar a quick stir to prevent the chia seeds from settling at the bottom.
Stir and serve — In the morning, stir well and add a splash of extra milk if the texture is too thick.
Add toppings — Top with fresh fruit, nut butter, granola, or your favorite toppings before serving.

Notes

  • Whisking the protein powder with a small amount of milk first prevents clumping — don't skip this step.
  • Old-fashioned rolled oats work best; quick oats tend to turn overly mushy.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. Not recommended for freezing, as the texture becomes watery once thawed.
  • Protein content varies by brand; adjust protein powder amount based on your personal dietary needs.
